Jennifer Hamel, MA, LAPC
Psychometrist
Jennifer Hamel, MA, LAPC, is a licensed associate professional counselor and a psychometrist. She is part of the assessment and diagnosis team at Marcus Autism Center and has been employeed by the Marcus for the past 20 years. Ms. Hamel completed her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014 at Arogsy University, coursework in psychological assessment at University of Massachusettes and Georgia State University in 1996-1997. She completed her counseling internship at Skyland Trail in 2014, with training in Dialectical Behavioral Therpay (DBT) in individual and group counseling with adults. She also co-led DBT skills groups for adolescents at Decatur Family Psychiatry in 2015-2017.
In her current position at Marcus, Ms. Hamel conducts diagnostic assessments of children (ages 15 months to 18 years) under the supervision of the psychologists in the assessment and diagnostics team as well as with various research teams. She also co-leads a social skills group with Julie Cash, PsyD.
